Flexibility and Meritocracy

Flexibility and Meritocracy

I used to work at the same company as President Hisatoshi, so when he set up AIDIS, I simply moved right over. My job now involves balancing game and battle mechanics. Whether people like a game or not depends to a large extent on whether it's well-balanced, so affording balance lots of attention during development is a must. President Hisatoshi is a developer through and through, and doesn't distance himself from the team. He's right there making our games alongside us. If I have any doubts, I know I can always discuss them with him, and he'll provide useful feedback.

How you plan out your day or communicate with the rest of the team, what tools you use, how you keep track of your tasks, or even when you have your lunch break, is all up to you. It's a very flexible environment, which enables you to adopt a work style that best suits you. Unlike some other Japanese companies, we don't rely on a seniority system where what tasks you're entrusted with depends on how long you've been with the company. At AIDIS, it's all about your ability. You're good at something, you get to do it. Simple as that.

Working as a Creator

Working as a Creator

My future dream is to have players all around the world enjoy games on which I've worked to fine-tune. It's not just me but the producers, directors, and everyone else at the company identifies as a creator of games. It's rewarding to be seen as one. It motivates us to be more invested in our projects, and to derive more enjoyment from seeing them take form.

Everyone at AIDIS is a gamer. We may have different jobs, but we're united by a single goal—making games that are really fun. If that's what you'd like to do too, then don't worry about how many years of experience you have or whether you have all the right skills. What matters is that you have the passion and determination. Of course, you're also welcome if you do have experience in the field! I'm sure we can find you a position which will suit your needs while remaining challenging enough to further your professional growth.
